The safest school sport.

Over 1,500,000 high school student athletes are injured playing sports each year. That’s over 1,500,000 too many.

While one of the main concerns for parents with children sports is safety, each year millions of student athletes are injured while playing high-school sports. Clay target shooting sports however is the safest high school activities nationwide.

It’s all because of our priorities – Safety, Fun, Marksmanship – in that order.

The National Federation of State High School Associations supports the High School Sports-Related Injury Surveillance Study. Since the 2005-06 school year, the National High School Sports-Related Injury Surveillance Study has monitored injuries among US high school athletes.

What about injuries in Clay Target shooting? None.

“Safety is our number one priority for the League” said USA Clay Target League President, John Nelson. “All student athletes must earn a firearm safety certificate, wear protective eye and hearing gear, abide to our strict policies and procedures, and every single practice or competition event requires both a Range Safety Officer and a coach to supervise student athletes.”

With more than 150,000 participating athletes shooting at more than 200 million targets, the League has never had a reported injury – ever.
